Storyteller, 1500 Stories Project
Julia told the story of the nation’s first city-led basic income initiative - the Stockton Economic Empowerment Demonstration - as a contribution to a civic engagement art project documenting wealth inequality in the SF Bay Area. Her submission will be part a live art installation and the archives of the California History Center.

Intern, UC-Santa Cruz Department of Anthropology
Assisted in research and creation of documentary film under faculty fellowship highlighting ways to improve mental health care services for students in effort to enhance culture and practice of teaching and learning on campus.

Museum Docent, California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco
Worked on the Leadership Design Team to create a museum exhibit piece for “Skin: Living Armor, Evolving Identity”. As part of the Teen Advocates for Science Communication, Julia engaged visitors in the life of leaf cutter ants in the museum’s rainforest, presented an amethyst specimen from the geode collection to the visiting public, talked with children about the mysteries of tide pool invertebrates while wearing a starfish costume, danced and sang in a flash mob on the museum floor.

Local Coordinator, 21st Century Irish Arts and Writers Festival
Established relationship between Los Gatos High School and festival sponsored by the Consulate General of Ireland featuring eminent Irish writers and celebrating the intertwined histories of Ireland and the U.S.

Witness, Los Gatos High School Mock Trial Team
Portrayed role of witness testifying in criminal case involving "catfishing", or falsely posing as an online love interest.

Stanford Humanities Circle
Took part in structured weekly gatherings to discuss Philosophy readings.

Future Plans 

Julia will be attending the University of California Santa Barbara as an English major. She plans to become an English teacher.
